Overview
Medical Social Worker - Medical Social Work specialization in Boston, Massachusetts. This travel assignment starts 11/02/2026 for 13 weeks, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Responsibilities
- Perform psychosocial assessments and ongoing care coordination for patients and families.
- Evaluate social determinants of health (SDOH), and conduct abuse/neglect assessments as indicated.
- Lead discharge planning and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, standards-aligned documentation; participate in chart reviews and quality improvement activities.
- Provide clinical supervision, coaching, mentoring, and consultation to LCSWs and social work staff; assist with onboarding and competency development for new social work teammates.
- Float to multiple units as needed and support on-call coverage, including weekends/holidays when scheduled.

Requirements
- Licensure: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts, must have at time of submission.
- Certifications: MA LICSW (required at submission)
- Experience: 5–10 years of medical social work experience; acute care setting experience required.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform psychosocial assessments, SDOH evaluation, discharge planning, care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Working environment: Comfortable working in a hospital/acute care setting with the ability to float across units and handle on-call duties.
